The Honorable Richardine "Dina" Singleton-Brown is a native of Charleston, S.C. is the owner of the Singleton-Brown Law Firm, LLC. Dina graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Thereafter, began a career with Charleston County Grants Administration and worked her way up to become a Contracts Manager. She was responsible for managing millions in contracts and federal grant funds across the state. In 2005, she decided to follow her dream of becoming a lawyer and applied to the Charleston School of Law. Upon acceptance, she entered into their 4-year part time program going to classes in the evening and working full time during the day. While there she created the Angel Tree Project and helped more than 1,200 children obtain Christmas gifts over the three years, she attended CSOL. She also earned an award for Community Service. Involved in a number of student organizations, she continued worked extremely hard to complete her studies early; thereby, earning her Juris Doctor in in 3 years and 4 months.
Richardine knew at the tender age of nine that she wanted to be a lawyer. By candlelight, she would watch her mother pray nightly for the basic necessities for her five children, while her husband abdicated his personal responsibilities six months or more out of the year. Watching her mother suffer in silence fueled Richardine’s passion for helping those who could not or were too afraid to use their voices to make changes in their lives.
During law school, she interned at South Carolina Legal Services and upon graduating from law school, she was hired as a law graduate and upon her successful completion of the S.C. Bar, she began her legal career as a public interest staff attorney at SC. Legal Services.
Over the 8 years she has been in practice, Attorney Singleton-Brown has executed over 2,000 contracts which subsequently helped save more than 2000 homes across the state of South Carolina from foreclosure; giving responsible homeowners a second chance. In 2013, she stepped out on faith and opened her law practice using her skills to continue helping those in need.
She was appointed as a part-time Summary Court Judge for North Area 2 on April 30, 2015. She has learned the art of effectively managing her practice and balancing her court docket.
Richardine was chosen as a 2019 -2020 recipient of the S.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice’s “Honor Roll” for donating more than ten thousand dollars in free legal/pro Bono services to her community.

In her very little free time, Judge Brown enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyrone, of 22 years, their fur baby boys – J.D. and Justice, and their nieces and nephews.
