What this all about!

Love + Law chronicles the lives and loves of five highly successful female attorneys in Charleston, South Carolina.  These ladies have taken both their professions and their communities by storm as they forge their individual and collective paths in a white-male dominated profession in a city that saw a white supremist kill 9 church parishioners at Mother Emanuel and a police officer shoot an unarmed black man in the back.

As mothers of sons and daughters, these Lady Lawyers are committed to advocating for justice to all so that justice can be meted out to their families and children.  They don't play!  They will stand up to the establishment in a heartbeat and call a thing what it is....right when proper, but dead wrong when  the lines are crossed!  In the words of BoneCrusher, "We ain't never scared!"

These ladies have over a combined 60 years experience in their field, and their successes are a testament to the quality of work that they perform.  Their work in the courtroom as both lawyers and jurists in racially-charged cases has brought them local and national prominence.  Not to mention the one who left the law to sell luxury real estate and develop a niche market for her clientele.  To paraphrase Alicia, these girls are on fire!!!  And, by the way, they are all members of the Divine Nine, boasting three AKA's and two Deltas!

And you know they all balance work and personal lives in a way that is....let's just say interesting!  Some days you will see a smooth and orderly operation...others days, a shit show beyond compare!

At the end of the day, these ladies work hard, play hard, love hard.  Despite the struggles, they are making it, and they want to show little and big brown girls and brown boys that they can make it too!

In addition to being one of the oldest cities in the country, Charleston has a sordid history due to its role in the slave trade and the state's role in the Civil War...can you say Fort Sumter?!  Nevertheless, Charleston has repeatedly appeared as the number one tourist destination in Conde Nast, and the city continues on the path to redemption through its commitment to building the International African American Museum to chronical the  journey of millions of our brothers and sisters from Africa through the Middle Passage to old Gadsden's Wharf and other ports in the Atlantic World.   That is our backdrop, and we do not take the significance of who are at this space in time lightly!  Just watch us!

This city might call itself the seat of "Southern Charm," but Love + Law shows the sometimes "unflattering underbelly" of this section of the Deep South and the consequences of pushing back against this system.  The glitz and glam is certainly evident, but the fight to stay on top is ever present!  These ladies are here for it!
